Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is famous for her performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The well-known actress began her career in acting on the stage, performing in a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. Since her primary school years, she was Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. She became deaf in one ear after suffering from the mumps virus, however she did not have this limitation deter her determination to become an actor. The college she attended was drama before moving between Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her goals. Through a random encounter, she got stuck in an elevator together with the playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which became Hunter's debut. After moving in Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged a supporting role in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in numerous films and TV shows and films in more than a quarter century. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
