In 1995, her collaboration alongside Michel Piccoli, in Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion won her yet another David di Donatello award and Grolla of Oro. Asia began directing short films in the year 1994. She made two: Prospettive in 1996. She directed a documentary about her father and then Abel/Asia from 1998. Both focused on the famous film director Abel Ferrara. This latter was awarded by the Rome Film Festival. Asia's feature-length debut is Scarlet Diva (2000) in 1999, where she also played the role of lead actress and also wrote the screenplay.
